Features and advantages of the Kindle Touch
First of all, I was drawn to be a touch device. All previous versions included a physical QWERTY keyboard, something that ultimately only use a few times and add a space and extra size to the device. I was looking for a compact ebook, paperback size and both the Kindle and the Kindle Touch 4 fulfilled this task. The funny thing is that your screen is not touch-I am not aware that technology in the electronic-ink displays, so it uses a very strange solution to get it.
Kindle Touch
The framework Touch screen Kindle is more pronounced than that of other models, and this is because that has a network of infrared emitters and receivers, designed to detect where you are tapping on the screen. We should add that the system detects two simultaneous pulses that obviously can be done with any item, whether the fingers, gloved fingers, a pencil or whatever super comfortable when you’re reading with gloves or do not want to mess the screen.
The rest of the device is very simple, only has a single button on the front, used to take the title menu, and nothing else, the other functions are done through the menus on the touch screen. At its base is the on / off or sleep mode, perhaps too far out for easy press by mistake. Next door is the headphone jack, for those who like to listen to music while reading. Finally, the micro USB connector which is used to recharge your battery and to connect it. Rarely seen, but on that basis there is a LED that indicates the battery status when it is recharging. We are behind the metal contact area, for if you put the official cover with light, which feeds on the Kindle. Also the two external speakers.

Its salient features, plus its extras over the other model are:
- It weighs only 213 grams, divided into dimensions of 17 × 12 cm, with only 1 cm. thick. You feel very comfortable in the hand and size matches what has become a paperback book.
- It has a compact, without a single screw-might be a catch because they say that if you break it open, and the back has a touch slip.
- The screen is 6 inches and at first glance may seem small, but its text quality is impressive. Recall that is a screen with electronic ink-E-Ink, so it does not reflect the direct light and the viewing angle is perfect. Think like you’re reading on a printed paper, almost white-grayish with a tint.
Kindle Touch
- Compared to other Kindle-Kindle excluding Fire-win by having the touch screen, which greatly facilitates the task of navigation between the menu, or highlight text.
- Its internal storage memory is 4GB compared to 2GB model with buttons.
- It has better battery, holding 2 months in moderate consumption-reading 30 minutes a day without WiFi, compared to 1 month in the version with buttons.
- Bring headphone jack and external speakers.
- Your system includes extra features such as web browser-it is no wonder, but you can check out some trouble if you do not have the computer to hand, the MP3 player, X-Ray or hearing the text.
- 3G/WiFi version available or just WiFi.

My experience with the Kindle Touch
Despite having an Android tablet 10 inches, I am of that group of people who are unable to read long text on a wide screen but I resent the view. I acknowledge that I have several friends and acquaintances for whom this is not a problem and, therefore, rule out investing in an ebook to read on. The advantage of ebooks and the Kindle is on your screen, that has nothing to do with any display technology market and is not backlit and what we see is due to the electronic ink, to put it briefly, is something like liquid crystal displays of old calculators, but with much higher quality and better utilization of the device’s battery.
I really just read again, or encouraging you to read, because it is a convenient device that can take anywhere, and include the collection of books that have yet to read-up to 3000 books in the Kindle Touch *. It has several features that give it an extra in front of a traditional book:
One drawback of the Kindle Touch is that by not marketed outside the U.S., all menus are in English, no current possibility of change. However you can install dictionaries of other languages ??so you can use to look up words in a book.
Kindle Touch
If you click on the screen automatically to a word you will search the dictionary you have installed. If you mark a text allows you to leave it marked as a date or add a footnote marker.

- Choose from 3 fonts, different sizes and line spacing or use of the screen. All for you to read better and to your liking. You can do this by accessing the menu text when you hit a pinch the screen to increase or decrease the text size using the menu or text configuration.
- The reader will remember where you stopped reading. When you put the standby mode, pressing the button on its base, or jump into power saving mode by inactivity, you press the power button the page will appear where you left off, so no need to switch the everything.
- If you click in the upper right is a brand like like you’ve turned the page. You can put as many brands as you like.
- Whether it marks a page as if you select a text or add a note, will be stored in a file on your Kindle, then through the 3G/WiFi connection syncs with your Kindle account. In this way all your Kindle or Kindle application will be synchronized and will have all your notes and where they left off reading a book.
- You can share your appointments and notes with other Kindle users or even post pictures on Facebook or Twitter, which will link to your profile on Amazon Kindle.
- Although the Kindle Touch is currently only in English that does not mean that your on-screen keyboard containing all Latin characters.

Peculiarities of the Kindle Touch
One detail that needs to be repeated is that the Kindle Touch currently only sold in the U.S., so if you buy one and register at the store Amazon.es, you can not buy books in his shop through it. The solution is to buy from the web directly and automatically synchronized with your device when connected to the Internet.
Another possibility is to install the application on your computer Caliber, which is a kind of iTunes and used to be cataloged and stored all the books you have downloaded DRM-free. Another function is to convert books, because the Kindle only recognizes books in MOBI format and typically download books in EPUB format. It also serves to convert other file formats. Anyway, another possibility to send the books to your Kindle email and Amazon automatically converted to Kindle format and also leave a copy in your account in the cloud, which has a 5GB space. This method is fine because you can authorize your friends email to send you books by email.
- But Amazon has recently released an application to automate the process of sending documents to your Kindle, but currently only for Windows.
- There are many scene behind the Kindle, which came almost from the first model. You can jailbreak to putting on games. Also, if you’re going to use mainly for reading PDF-that it must be said, the Kindle system is bad for this task-, yours is that you install Duokan. With this you get a dual boot that lets you have the Kindle operating system and Duokan own, which is designed basically to read PDF files better.
- One of the virtues of this new Kindle is the X-Ray system currently only find it in some books enabled on Amazon.com-which is like an intelligent search inside the book, showing places and people, and I the represented by a graph to its size and location. Clicking on them will show you where in the text. We hope to be adding more books and to implant in the books of other languages.
Kindle Touch
I do not think, as has been predicted many times, the print end is near, but it is true that many such devices are going to stop buying paper textbooks.
I recommend you visit the blog of my experience Kindle for updates on developments of ebooks in general, and also join the e-reader forum for questions.
