The activity was developed in North Campus and played an important part of the public.

With the presence of important professionals and participation of Dr. Cristina Castro of the University of Alicante, Spain, the First Day South Chilean Computer (JCCS 2011), an activity organized by the School of Computer Engineering and was held at the North Campus Auditorium UC Temuco.

The aim of JCCS 2011 was to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academics and industry professionals to present their development activities and research results in Computer Science and Information Technology and Software, with emphasis on an applied approach.

“This activity gave us the opportunity to learn about other views of our work and that is performed by leading professionals in different areas, so I thank the speakers who came to share their experiences,” said Dr. Oriel Herrera, director of the School of Computer Engineering.

Along with professional Cristina Castro, Day was attended by Carlos Solis DELL company Welzel, Dr. José Miguel Piquer, University of Chile, José Miguel Piquer, University of Chile, Dr. John Atkinson the U. Conception and Mg. Alejandro Mellado UC Temuco, among others.

For most students use the Internet to give is to look up information for homework and go to face book, although in the latter spend most of the time they spend online.
My students know that the Internet can find whatever you are looking for, know that there is almost everything, so give little importance to acquire concepts or storing information in mind and they have it on the network and can be found.

I made some questions to my students in the second half of Communication for Social Interaction and spoke of the uses that give internet and how to optimize this resource, as they themselves acknowledged that sometimes get lost surfing the net or losing so much time on Face book just to see what is happening around their friends or acquaintances.

The internet is a very important tool in the form of twenty-first century learning, however we must consider that we should not disconnect from reality and forget our own context because this is where we really need to work to transform our benefit and who we surround.
